The exhibits in both galleries can be visited during regular public gallery hours: Friday, 2 to 6 p.m.; and Saturday and Sunday.
Water Street Studios at 160 S. Water Street in Batavia, Illinois
This event is free and open to the public. We encourage all visitors to make a $5 donation at the door to support arts programming at Water Street Studios.
Water Street Studios New Exhibitions: “The Collective Group Show” & “From the Heartland” by Rita Brace
Water Street Studios’ Dempsey Family Gallery will be hosting the work Water Street Studios’ Artists Collective. The fourteen-member collective will be displaying work in a variety of media, including painting, photography, mixed media, scratchboard, assemblages, and sculpture.
Artists Collective members include: Richard DeVeau, Lisa Goesling, David Hauptschein, Chris Hodge, Anke Korioth, Kathy McDonald, Bill McGrath, Janice Meister, Joe Milosevich, Colin Sherrell, Steve Sherrell, Carol Weber, David Wensel, and Angela Wilson.
Water Street Studios Artist Collective is a group of established artist members working in a range of contemporary art styles and media. Formed in 2016, the Water Street Studios Artist Collective aims to foster a mutually supportive environment of collaboration and professional growth, while contributing to the success of Water Street Studios’ Gallery program.
The Water Street Studios Artist Collective Group Show will be on display from August 10th through September 9th.
2nd Floor Gallery:
Rita Brace will be exhibiting a number of her oil paintings in a show titled, “From the Heartland.” Rita lived on Cape Cod for forty years and recently moved to Oklahoma. Her work is inspired by both of these diverse locations.
The artists will be present at the reception to discuss their work and answer questions. In addition, appetizers will be provided by Gaetano's Batavia, cash bar featuring beer from Solemn Oath Brewery, and wine will be available for purchase. A special thank you to event sponsor, K.Hollis Jewelers.
