About Us

SPS is a not-for-profit agency with several branches: Stone Manor Counseling for counseling in all areas with an emphasis on depression and/or suicidal ideation. We have 4 licensed clinicians who work with adults and children as well as families and couples. General counseling is also provided.

SPS has a depression hotline with a local number(630-482-9696). The hotline is staffed with paraprofessionals (volunteers) who come from all walks of life. Parapros range in age from 18-83. We are also part of the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (1-800-273-8255). Volunteers are always needed.

SPS has contracts with 4 school districts (Batavia, Geneva, St. Charles, and West Aurora). Clinicians are called into the schools to assess for depression and suicidal ideation.

We offer support groups. Survivors of Suicide Loss (SOS), is a support group for those who have had a family member(s) or a friend die by suicide. Survivors of Suicide Attempts (SOSA) is for those people who have attempted to take their lives but who have lived. Both groups are lead by a peer with a clinician attending as backup.

Stephanie Weber,MS, LCPC, our founding and Executive Director, is known nationally and internationally as well as locally and state-wide for her workshops of suicide prevention. Each workshop is individualized to fit the agency, school, corporation, or church. Workshops can be of any length from 2 hours to a full day.

Stephanie Dewinski, LSC, LCSW also delivers workshops, mostly to small classrooms and community groups.

SPS accepts insurance and operates on a sliding scale for those not having insurance.
