Batavia High School Announces 2026-27 Illinois State Scholars
Illinois Student Assistance Commission Congratulates 83 Batavia High School Students for
Their Outstanding Academic Performance
BATAVIA, IL – Batavia High School Principal Dr. JoAnne Smith is pleased to announce that 83 students from the Batavia High School graduating class of 2026 have been designated as Illinois State Scholars. A List of the BHS Scholars can be found at bhs.bps101.net/news.
The Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC), the state’s college access and financial aid agency, presents this important recognition of academic achievement to exceptional Illinois high school students annually. The combination of students’ exemplary college entrance examination scores and high school achievement records indicates an exceptionally high potential for success in college. To be named an Illinois State Scholar is an outstanding accomplishment that will be a highlight of the recipient’s academic record. This year's honorees join the other outstanding students who have been honored since the designation was first introduced in 1958.
The Illinois State Scholar designation is a non-monetary award. Each State Scholar will receive a congratulatory letter and a Certificate of Achievement from ISAC.
Note that the Illinois State Scholar Program announces honorees based on the year they would begin any postsecondary education, not based on the year they graduate from high school.
