Batavia Uncorked casual wine festival returns on June 7

BATAVIA, IL – Cheers! Tickets are on sale for Batavia Uncorked, Batavia Park District’s casual outdoor wine festival on June 7. Enjoy a variety of unique local wine along with food and live music at the Peg Bond Center stage and the relaxed ambiance of The Riverwalk.

Now in its second year, the wine event will showcase eight wineries. Returning this year are The Pour Vineyard, PRP Wine International, Sturdy Shelter Brewing, Tasting DeVine Cellars A Division of Lynfred Winery, Trader Joe’s, Up North Tasting Room and Waterman Winery. New this year is Broken Brix Winery, Cidery & Meadery of St. Charles.

“We launched this event in 2024 to provide a casual option to sample wine,” said event organizer Lori McDonald. “It was a huge success and tickets sold out. Everyone loved the setup of a wine festival along the river with live acoustic guitar music.”

That relaxed ambience was a hit with Ali Blaine who attended last year with friends. Her group loved the riverside setting, live music, seeing friends from around town and having the opportunity to sample many different wines. “It was a great way to try ‘new to us’ wines and even find some new favorites,” she said.

“We had so much fun last year,” she added. “When tickets went on sale this year, we all bought them right away to make sure we didn't miss out.”

This event is also a great opportunity to learn about wine, ask questions and meet local vendors. In 2024, “we got to connect with a lot of people from Batavia,” said Oliver Bulley, general manager of Sturdy Shelter Brewing. “I really enjoyed the event because we were able to introduce people to some of the delicious wines we offer at Sturdy Shelter.”

Acoustic duo Liz & Hala will perform and food will be available for purchase from Fernando's Street Kitchen and Chicago Charcuterie Corner. Attendees may bring blankets and portable chairs and tables.

The event, sponsored by Sturdy Shelter Brewing and Redo Cabinets, runs from 1 to 4 p.m. New this year is a Premier ticket that offers 15 one-ounce pours and a commemorative glass for $55. Thirty Premier tickets remain. General Admission tickets are $40 and include entry to the event, 10 one-ounce pours and a commemorative glass. A designated driver ticket is $10 and includes water and soda. Get your tickets today at bataviaparks.org/batavia-uncorked.

Attendees and ticket purchasers must be 21 years or older and present a valid, state-issued ID card at the time of check-in. Last call is at 3:30 p.m. and the last pour is at 3:45 p.m. No one under age 21 will be allowed to enter the festival. Pets are not permitted.
