Community Dinner Table Returns August 30

BATAVIA, IL – Batavia United Way invites the community to pull up a chair for Community Dinner Table on Sunday, August 30, an unforgettable evening where great food, local flavor, and community come together to fight food insecurity in Batavia.

This year's event embraces a relaxed coastal theme, featuring a delicious Caribbean-inspired meal of Caribbean jerk chicken and shrimp (mildly seasoned), all the fixings, and dessert, prepared by local restaurant partners. Guests will also enjoy live music, raffles, a silent auction, and a selection of beverages included with each ticket, generously provided by Sturdy Shelter Brewing, Whiskey Acres Distilling Co., Energy City Brewing, and Geneva Winery.

Batavia United Way is proud to recognize Batavia Enterprises Inc. (BEI) and the Dunham Foundation as this year's Presenting Sponsors. Their generous support, along with the commitment of many additional community partners and volunteers, makes this event possible and helps expand its impact throughout the Batavia community.

"Community Dinner Table is about so much more than sharing a meal," said Kathy Evangelista, Executive Director of Batavia United Way. "When our community gathers around one long table, we're helping ensure that our neighbors can gather around theirs. Every seat feeds a neighbor."

Proceeds from Community Dinner Table support Batavia United Way's food insecurity initiatives, including partnerships with the Batavia Interfaith Food Pantry, Salvation Army Food Pantry, Meals on Wheels for Batavia seniors, the Senior Food Program at Riverain Point Apartments, and home-delivered meals prepared by teen volunteers for individuals experiencing serious illness.

Tickets are $68 per person and include dinner, beverages, dessert, live music, and an evening of community and connection. Seating is limited, and advance ticket purchase is strongly encouraged.
